Bread Baking Workshops
Join Danielle and Chefs Kevin McKenna and Pastry Chef Dylan Smith in a bread baking workshop to learn about traditional bread-making using heritage grains. Learn about quick breads, incorporating grains, toppings and baking techniques with an expert. Both Chef’s have years of pastry experience and Chef Dylan’s famous sourdough artisan bread is famous not only here at the farm.
Some workshops may have a theme and focus on a specific type of bread and how to make it. Each workshop includes a delicious three course farmhouse lunch and all equipment and recipes. These events are BYOB so you are welcome to bring your own beverages to enjoy with lunch.
Join Danielle and Chef McKenna for an evening of learning and eating with seasonal ingredients. Make your meal together and enjoy the outcome together. Entertaining made easy and fun in the style of South Pond. Under the experienced hand of Chef McKenna make a four course dinner with local seasonal ingredients. Learn how to prepare meats, fish and vegetables with tricks from a skilled chef. Create a centrepiece with seasonal “ingredients” with Danielle and take a little of Taste of the Country home.
Each cooking class focuses on traditional cooking and entertaining and may include a specific theme or skill that will be covered. These events are BYOB so you are welcome to bring your own beverages to enjoy with lunch.

Making something beautiful with Danielle. Learn how to use what is around us in nature and work with your hands. Afternoon canapés and glass of wine included.
Walking outside weather permitting.
Wednesday workshops are instructed by our farm experts and chefs and are offered every Wednesday of the month, beginning at 10 am. They include all materials and supplies and a delicious farm lunch. Cost: $70 plus tax per person. Each workshop will be one of four themes.
Planting and harvesting: work with us in our garden and see what is being planted or harvested. Learn how to’s, different soils, how to take tomatoes from start to finish, learn about planting garlic and harvesting it and many other varieties of plant, flowers and herbs. Depending on the time of year, bring seedlings or part of the harvest home.
Microgreens: how to plant and harvest, what types to plant, what they taste like and why they are good for you, how to use them. Bring a container home with you.
Fermenting: Learn from our Chef how to mix up simple ingredients with freshly harvested produce to preserve your food and enhance its nutritional content. Understand the action of the bacteria and minerals that produce vitamins and enzymes beneficial for gut health.
Seasonal Wreath: Make a seasonal wreath picked from the gardens. Tour the gardens and gather supplies. Take home a beautiful wreath.
