I love this steak recipe. It’s great on it’s own with a potato and roasted vegetables, but I also love it with a tart green salad on the side. I’ve been experimenting with salts and spice blends (big surprise) and this pepper spice is becoming a staple in my pantry. It has a hint of cardamon and brings out the sweetness in the meat.
Marinated Flank Steak with White Christmas Pepper Steak Spice
This is a versatile marinade and if you can’t find or don’t like flank steak, you can use a good quality sirloin. Prepare a container for marinating the meat either a ziplock bag or shallow rectangular bowl. One flank steak about 2 – 2 1/2 lbs. Rub the steak with our own White Pepper Christmas Steak Spice (or if you sadly do not have any, use regular white ground pepper).
Marinade
2 tablespoon soy sauce 1 tablespoon minced garlic 1 teaspoon dried or 1 tablespoon fresh ginger 2 tablespoon honey 1 tablespoon rice vinegar. Let the meat rest in the marinade in the refrigerator for 6 hours or better, overnight. To grill the meat – turn the bbq on high or the broiler in your oven. Remove the steak from the marinade and pat dry with paper towels. Place on the grill about 3-4 minutes per side depending on the thickness of the steak. This cut is best rare 125 degrees.
